Pix is the Brazilian version of MB WAY. Like MB WAY, it was created by the Central Bank as a method for transferring money between accounts in just seconds, securely. Until recently, it was only available as a payment method for online stores in Brazil, but now, thanks to Eupago, Pix has arrived in Portugal and Europe.
The main advantage of EuroPix is that it’s an instant payment. Customers just scan the QR code with their phone camera, confirm the exchange rate, and complete the payment. It’s fast, simple, and secure — offering a smooth checkout experience.
Pix has over 140 million users in Brazil and is the country’s most popular payment method. Between Brazilians living in Portugal, tourists, and the opportunity to sell online to Brazil, Pix allows you to reach millions of potential new customers.
The customer pays from a reais account and sees the exchange rate at the time of payment. EuroPix connects to the customer’s Brazilian bank account, and the conversion to euros is displayed immediately — no hidden fees or surprises.
EuroPix is available at payment terminals (via Eupago’s POS) and for online stores. Through Eupago’s payment gateway, Pix is available for Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop, and Magento stores. If you use another platform, you can accept Pix in Portugal and Europe through our API.
In physical stores: EuroPix is available through Eupago’s POS terminal, a modern device with no lock-in period and very competitive commissions. The vendor simply selects the "EuroPix" method to generate a QR code. The customer opens their Brazilian banking app, scans the code, and confirms the payment.
In online stores: Customers choose EuroPix from the available payment methods at checkout. A QR code is generated. They scan it, confirm the amount and the euro exchange rate, and payment is instantly confirmed.
Although Brazilian customers pay in reais, merchants receive the value in euros. Eupago transfers the amount to your account on the next business day after payment is received.
Eupago’s commissions are automatically deducted from the transaction amount. For EuroPix payments in online stores, our commission is €0.15 + 1.8% of the total amount (promotional rate for sign-ups until the end of 2025), plus applicable VAT.
